Dictionary for Mozilla Thunderbird
Installation instructions
- Download file wirdeins.xpi and save it on your computer.
- Start Mozzila Thunderbird and go to: Tools>Add-ons.
- Click on button Install.
- Go to the folder where you have saved the downloaded file. Select the file and click Open.
- In pop-up window click Install Now.
- In the main window click Restart Thunderbird to end the instalation.
Update instructions
- Start Mozzila Thunderbird and go to: Tools>Add-ons.
- In Prūsiskas wirdeīns click Uninstall
- Click button Install.
- Go to the folder where you have saved the downloaded file. Select the file and click Open.
- In pop-up window click Install Now.
- In the main window click Restart Thunderbird to end the instalation.
Dictionary for Mozilla Firefox (Linux)
Installation instructions
- Download files: prg.aff, prg.dic and save them on your computer.
- Find folder with hunspell dictionaries. It is probably /usr/share/hunspell/.
- Go to the folder where you have saved the downloaded files and copy them to hunspell folder using command:
sudo cp prg.* /usr/share/hunspell/
- Find folder with myspell dictionaries. It is probably /usr/share/myspell/dicts/.
- Make in this folder symbolic links to files prg.dic, prg.aff with the same names using commands:
sudo ln -s /usr/share/hunspell/prg.aff /usr/share/myspell/dicts/prg.aff
sudo ln -s /usr/share/hunspell/prg.dic /usr/share/myspell/dicts/prg.dic
- Start Firefox. In a field where it is possible to write press the right mouse key and select check spelling. Next again press the right mouse key. Now there should be visible Languages in the menu. Go there to the list of languages and select prg. From now the automatic spell-checking is activated.
Update instructions
- In the folder /usr/share/hunspell/ replace files prg.dic, prg.aff with the newer versions
- Restart Firefox
Dictionary for Mozilla Firefox (Windows)
Installation instructions
- Download files: prg.aff, prg.dic and save them in your computer.
- copy the saved files to the folder Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\dictionaries
- Start Firefox. In a field where it is possible to write press the right mouse key and select check spelling. Next again press the right mouse key. Now there should be visible Languages in the menu. Go there to the list of languages and select prg. From now the automatic spell-checking is activated.
Update instructions
- In the folder C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\dictionaries replace files prg.dic, prg.aff with the newer versions
- Restart Firefox
Dictionary for Internet Explorer (Windows) sen Speckie Add-on
You have to have Speckie Add-on installed. If you don't have it, download it from here, install it and restart IE.
Dictionary installation instructions
- Download files: prg.aff, prg.dic and save them on your computer.
- Copy the saved files into the folder C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Speckie\Dicts. Maybe it will be necessary to change the User to a proper user name in the system
- Start IE. Select Tools>Speckie Settings There the new installed dictionary will appear without any name. Select its checkbox and unselect checkboxes of other dictionaries. Press Apply
- In a field where it is possible to write write a prussian text, press the right mouse key and select check spelling. Incorrectly written words will be underlined. Pressing the underlined word with the righ mouse key it is possible to see propositions of correct words fron the dictionary.
Update instructions
- In the folder C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Speckie\Dicts replace the files prg.dic, prg.aff with the newer versions.
- Restart IE
Dictionary for OpenOffice/LibreOffice (Linux)
Unfortunately, these editors have their own compiled-in list of languages. It is impossible to have there language Prūsiskan or prg. To have prussian language, one has to cheat a little. We will have prussian language under the name of an other language.
Installation instructions
- Select one of languages, that you have installed in OOffice/Loffice, but you don't use it (if there is no such, install it). Here for example it will be English(Australia)
- You have to have the files prg.aff, prg.dic saved in the folder /usr/share/hunspell (see details of instalation in Firefox (Linux))
- Go to the folder /usr/share/hunspell/ and the replace the files en_AU.dic, en_AU.aff with symbolic links to the files prg.dic, prg.aff calling the commands:
sudo ln -s prg.dic en_AU.dic
sudo ln -s prg.aff en_AU.aff
- Start the editor. Go to Tools>Language>For all text>More. There it is possible to chose the default language for the whole document (in the field Default languages for documents). Select English (Australia). If you want the prussian language to be the default language for any new document, uncheck the checkbox For the current document only.
- In the menu Tools>Language> you can choose (under the name English (Australia)) also for one paragraph or a selection.

Wirdeīns en gedit (Linux)
Installation instructions
- Install the dictionary in hunspell and myspell like in the case of dictionaries for Firefox
- Open gedit. Go to Tools > SetLanguage. Prussian will be visible in the list as Unknown(prg). Select it. In the menu Tools check the checkbox near Automatic check spelling. From now the incorrectly written words will be underlined. Pressing the right mouse key on a word and choosing Spelling suggestions it will be possible to get propositions of correct dictionary words.
Update instructions
Copy new versions of the files prg.dic be prg.aff in the folder /usr/share/hunspell/ and restart gedit.
